Srinagar, Dec 6: The Office of the Lieutenant Governor on Friday clarified that social media posts regarding the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) examination are misleading, stating that the file received at Lok Bhavan on December 2, 2025, was only related to the issue of age relaxation and not to postponement of the examination.
In an official post on X (formerly Twitter), the LG’s office, according to news agency Kashmir Dot Com , said the file was returned the same day with a query on whether it was logistically possible to conduct the examination on December 7, 2025, after making changes in eligibility criteria at such a late stage.
“Despite the lapse of four days, Lok Bhavan did not receive any response,” the post said, adding that the Lieutenant Governor fully sympathises with the young aspirants.
The LG’s office further clarified that the advertisement notice for the examination was published by the J&K Public Service Commission on August 22, 2025, while the examination date of December 7, 2025, was notified through a JKPSC notice issued on November 6, 2025.
The clarification comes amid widespread speculation and confusion on social media regarding the status of the examination and eligibility criteria.
