SRINAGAR, Dec 20: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Information Technology, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, on Friday held meetings with several public deputations in Srinagar, engaging in detailed discussions to understand their concerns, demands and developmental aspirations.The deputations raised a wide range of issues, including improvement in public service delivery, availability of essential commodities, strengthening of transport infrastructure, enhancement of IT-enabled services, promotion of sports activities and welfare measures for youth. Matters related to local infrastructure development, employment generation, consumer welfare and effective implementation of government schemes were also highlighted.The Minister gave a patient hearing to all deputations and assured them that their genuine issues would be examined carefully and addressed in a time-bound manner. He underlined that regular public outreach and direct interaction with citizens are vital for responsive and effective governance.Reiterating the government’s firm commitment to transparent and people-centric governance, Satish Sharma said that the present administration remains focused on ensuring that policies and programmes are closely aligned with the actual needs and expectations of the people.He also stressed the importance of leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and transparency in service delivery, particularly in sectors such as food supplies, transport and information technology. Emphasising youth empowerment, the Minister highlighted the government’s thrust on strengthening sports infrastructure, promoting skill development initiatives and creating greater opportunities for youth participation at district, state and national levels .
