New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet leading economists and sectoral experts ahead of the 2026–27 Union Budget, as the government prepares its fiscal roadmap amid global economic headwinds.
The Budget will be presented against a backdrop of geopolitical uncertainties and the imposition of a steep 50 per cent tariff by the United States on shipments from India.
Besides economists and domain specialists, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery, NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam and other members of the Aayog will also attend the meeting.
