The Administrator of Associated Hospitals has announced that the MRI unit at Government Medical College’s facility in Government SMHS and Super Specialty Hospital Shreen Bagh, Srinagar, will undergo essential maintenance starting December 4, 2025. The procedure includes de-icing of the MRI magnet to ensure the unit’s optimal performance and long-term reliability.
The maintenance process is expected to take around two weeks, during which MRI services at both Government SMHS Hospital and the Super Specialty Hospital will remain suspended.
To ensure uninterrupted diagnostic support for patients, MRI examinations during this period will be conducted at Government Psychiatry Hospital Srinagar (IMHANS) and Government Bone & Joint Hospital Srinagar.
The administration has requested the public and patients to cooperate during the temporary suspension, emphasizing that the maintenance is crucial for the smooth and efficient functioning of the MRI facility in the future.
