LG Manoj Sinha Calls for United Stand Against Terrorism, Says It’s the Enemy of Development
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that terrorism remains the biggest obstacle to peace and progress, stressing that while security forces are doing their duty to eliminate it, society too must rise to counter those who sympathise with terror.
Speaking at a special convocation at the University of Jammu, Sinha said that the fight against terrorism requires a collective effort involving every section of society.
He paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the recent Delhi blast and expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
“Terrorism is the enemy of development. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered its consequences for long, but today’s youth are dreaming big and determined to move ahead. Their aspirations are no different from the youth across the country and the world,” he said.
The LG emphasised that silence against terrorism is not an option. “Society has a responsibility to stand up. Those who fail to rise are left behind. It is important to expose those who create or promote narratives in support of terrorism,” he added.
