Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team Arrives in Chennai for 2025 Junior World Cup

The Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team arrived in Chennai on Saturday for the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Tamil Nadu 2025, set to take place in Chennai and Madurai from 28 November to 10 December.India, two-time Junior World Cup champions, will look to make the most of home conditions as they chase their first title since 2016. Placed in Pool B with Chile, Switzerland and Oman, the team will be coached by former India goalkeeper PR Sreejesh and led by captain Rohit.The squad enters the tournament with confidence after winning silver at the Sultan of Johor Cup in Malaysia. Earlier this year, they also gained valuable experience at the Four Nations Tournament in Berlin and during a European tour across Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. Intensive training camps in Bengaluru have further sharpened their preparation.“We’re excited to be in Chennai for this prestigious event,” said captain Rohit. “We’ve trained hard and hope fans will come out to support us.”Teammate Amir Ali added, “Playing a World Cup at home is a huge honour. We’ll do our best to repeat the success India achieved nearly a decade ago.”India opens their campaign against Chile on 28 November, followed by matches against Oman on 29 November and Switzerland on 2 December.
