Srinagar, 20 Jan 2026 : The Indian Army successfully organised a Rozgaar Mela (Job Fair) at the Chinar Nau Jawan Club, Uri, from 15 to 20 January 2026, aimed at empowering the unemployed educated youth of Uri Tehsil, Baramulla district (Jammu & Kashmir). The initiative focused on creating awareness about various Government and private sector employment schemes, addressing employment-related grievances and facilitating access to meaningful job opportunities.

The Rozgaar Mela was organised by Dagger Division, in collaboration with the REACHA Foundation, under the aegis of Chinar Corps.

The event witnessed the participation of 12 reputed companies, offering diverse employment opportunities across multiple sectors including Information Technology, Hospitality, Finance and Manufacturing.

The primary objective of the Rozgaar Mela was to bridge the gap between skilled local youth and potential employers, while also extending focused support to ex-servicemen and their families, particularly those residing in border areas. In addition to job placements, participants received career guidance, counselling and information on skill development initiatives.

Job seekers were also guided on accessing future employment opportunities through the Jammu & Kashmir Employment Portal.

The initiative was met with overwhelming appreciation from the youth, ex-servicemen and their families, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army for its sustained efforts in addressing the socio-economic needs of the local population. Many participants urged that such Rozgaar Melas be organised regularly to ensure wider outreach and greater impact.

This Rozgaar Mela stands as a testament to the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to Nation-Building and community welfare, further reinforcing the deep-rooted bond of trust and cooperation between the Indian Army and the local populace of Jammu & Kashmir.
