Fresh snowfall across parts of Kashmir, including Srinagar, has led to the continued closure of the Srinagar–Jammu national highway for the third consecutive day on Sunday. The 270-kilometre arterial road has remained shut since Friday after heavy snowfall disrupted traffic, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded along the route.
Officials said snow clearance operations are underway, but restoration of traffic may take more time due to ongoing snowfall, particularly in the Kulgam district. “The highway is still closed as fresh snow is hampering clearance work,” a senior traffic police official said.Srinagar city also witnessed light snowfall in the early hours of the day.
Meanwhile, flight operations at Srinagar International Airport have remained unaffected by the weather conditions. Authorities confirmed that flights are operating normally, with three flights having already arrived at the airport.
