Srinagar, Dec 25: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has granted permission to recognised private schools to conduct remedial classes during the ongoing winter vacation. As per an official order, the remedial classes may be held strictly between 11 am and 3 pm.
The directorate noted that it has received numerous representations from heads of recognised private educational institutions across the Kashmir division seeking permission to start remedial teaching during the vacation period.
The requests cited a reduced number of working days owing to prolonged vacations, harsh climatic conditions, administrative closures, and other unavoidable circumstances.
DSEK clarified that the remedial and supplementary classes must be conducted only with prior consent of parents and on a purely voluntary basis.
It also emphasised that no additional fee should be charged from students for attending these classes. The order further directed schools to ensure proper heating arrangements in classrooms during the conduct of remedial classes.
