Nov 22: The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) has issued a directive instructing all District Hospitals and other healthcare institutions in the Valley to prominently display updated daily rosters of on-duty doctors. The move aims to enhance transparency, ensure accountability, and streamline healthcare service delivery.As per the circular, all Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents, and Block Medical Officers must prepare and update these rosters every day.
The lists are required to include specialists, medical officers, emergency and casualty staff, as well as details of leave arrangements.DHSK has emphasized that these rosters should be prominently displayed at key points across hospital premises, including the main entrance or reception, OPD areas, and emergency or casualty sections. Institutions with online platforms have been directed to upload the rosters on their websites or portals as well.Each roster must specify the doctor’s name, designation, department, shift timings, and contact or extension number wherever applicable.
The circular also places personal responsibility on Medical Superintendents to ensure accuracy and timely updates.The Directorate has warned that failure to comply with these instructions will invite strict action under relevant rules. The order has been made effective immediately, with all concerned directed to ensure full adherence.
