Jammu, June 14: A Special Judge of the Anti-Corruption Court in Jammu has dismissed a complaint alleging large-scale corruption in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Jammu and Kashmir, finding no evidence to support the allegations after examining a detailed inquiry report submitted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
The complaint had been filed by retired IAS officer A.K. Parmar, who alleged irregularities in the procurement of GI, DI and HDPE pipes under the centrally sponsored Jal Jeevan Mission. The allegations were directed against former Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta and officials of the Jal Shakti Department.
After reviewing the ACB’s findings, the court observed that no misappropriation of funds was detected during scrutiny of official records. The inquiry also found no irregularities in the tendering and procurement process carried out under the mission.
The court noted that the allegations made in the complaint were not substantiated by the material collected during the investigation and held that the protest petition was not maintainable. Consequently, the complaint was dismissed.
The latest order marks the second dismissal of similar allegations raised by the complainant. Earlier, on April 20, 2026, the same court had rejected another complaint filed by Parmar on the same issue.
