The Pulwama District Court has issued summons to Aakash Coaching Institute, Rajbagh (Srinagar) in a ₹10 crore defamation case filed by Solace International School, Pulwama.
The Hon’ble Principal District Judge (PDJ), Pulwama, took cognizance of the suit, which alleges that Aakash Institute falsely claimed credit for the Class 10th Board topper of the Kashmir Division, who secured 100 percent marks in the 2024–25 examinations.
According to court records, the student was a full-time student of Solace International School throughout Class 10th and achieved the result under the exclusive academic guidance of Solace faculty.
The petition states that the student joined Aakash Institute only after the declaration of results, for Class 11th coaching, and that the institute had no role in the Class 10th achievement.
Solace International School has accused the defendant of academic piracy, misrepresentation, unfair trade practices, and damage to institutional reputation, alleging that such claims were made to mislead parents and students for commercial gain.
The school has sought:
• ₹10 crore in damages
• A permanent injunction against false academic claims
• A public apology and clarification in newspapers and on social media
It was also submitted that a legal notice dated January 16, 2026, was served on the institute, and alleged non-compliance led to the filing of the suit.
The case is pending before the Hon’ble Principal District Judge, Pulwama.
