Kulgam, December 15: Jammu and Kashmir Police have detained a notorious habitual offender under the Public Safety Act (PSA) as part of their sustained crackdown on criminal elements in Kulgam district.An official spokesperson said that Kulgam Police, while continuing their firm action against habitual criminals, apprehended an individual involved in multiple theft-related cases registered at various police stations across the Valley.
Despite repeated arrests and legal proceedings under relevant laws, the accused continued to indulge in activities that disturbed public order and created fear and insecurity among residents.
The detainee has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hassan Dar, a resident of Raiwattan Asnoor Manzgam, Kulgam.
Taking into account his persistent criminal conduct, the District Magistrate, Kulgam, issued a detention warrant against him under the PSA.The warrant was executed by a team from Police Station Manzgam, and the accused has been lodged in the designated jail in accordance with the detention order
.Kulgam Police reiterated their resolve to maintain peace and public order in the district, stating that strict legal action will continue against individuals involved in criminal and anti-social activities
