NIA Conducts Extensive Raids in South Kashmir in Ongoing Delhi Blast ProbeThe National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday carried out extensive searches across multiple locations in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district — including the Mattan forest area and Qazigund — as part of its ongoing investigation into the Delhi blast case.
According to sources, a high-level NIA team, assisted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, conducted the raids following specific disclosures made by the arrested suspects. The agency brought along the two accused — Dr. Adeel Rather and Jasir Bilal Wani — to help identify key locations during the operation.
“The searches were conducted based on the spots indicated by the accused. Some recoveries have been made, and the seized material is currently under examination,” sources said.
The operation began early Tuesday in the dense Mattan forest belt, where a detailed combing operation was launched.
Simultaneous raids were conducted in Qazigund and another location in Anantnag, bringing the total number of sites searched to three.
While the NIA has not yet disclosed the nature of the recoveries, officials confirmed that the findings are significant and expected to shed light on the wider network involved in the Delhi blast case.
