Nov 24: The District Administration Budgam, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat (IAS), has stepped up its ongoing crackdown on illegal brick kilns operating without proper authorization or in violation of environmental and land-use norms. As part of the intensified drive, the civil administration with support from the police on Sunday dismantled three unauthorized brick kilns in Mulshulla village of Tehsil Beerwah.
These units were reportedly causing significant air pollution, posing health risks to residents, and damaging fertile agricultural land by rendering it unfit for cultivation. The administration has made it clear that such illegal operations will not be tolerated, especially when they endanger public health, harm the environment, and threaten agricultural sustainability.Officials have urged owners of unauthorized brick kilns to voluntarily dismantle their setups.
Those who fail to comply will face strict legal and enforcement action. The operation was closely supervised by SDM Beerwah Toufeeq Gazi, along with the Tehsildar Beerwah, SDPO Magam, and other concerned civil and police officers, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to all legal protocols.Local residents welcomed the action and emphasized the need for continued drives to protect public health and the environment.
Reiterating its commitment, the District Administration Budgam said that firm, coordinated, and sustained action will continue across all tehsils to curb illegal brick kiln operations and preserve the district’s environmental and agricultural resources.
