Baramulla, Nov 18: Acting on specific intelligence, Police Station Kreeri on Tuesday conducted a swift operation that led to the busting of an illegal gambling racket in the orchards of Check Tappar.According to officials, the tip-off was received around 4:00 PM, prompting the formation of a special team headed by the SDPO Kreeri.
The team immediately raided the identified location, where 12 individuals were found engaged in gambling activities.During the operation, police seized stake money amounting to ₹1,55,000, along with playing cards, two Alto cars, and one scooty used by the accused.Following the raid, FIR No. 87/2025 under Section 13 of the Gambling Act was registered at Police Station Kreeri, and further investigation is currently underway.Arrested persons include:
