Jammu, Nov 18: Security checks at Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital in Jammu have been tightened, with police and hospital officials increasing inspections of unclaimed or unattended lockers used by staff and doctors.
Dr. Dara Singh, the Medical Superintendent of SMGS Hospital, said that the verification process had already been in progress but was intensified after the recent blast in Delhi.“We had initiated this exercise earlier, but following the incident in Delhi, the checking has been stepped up.
Even today, a locked almirah was opened in the presence of security personnel. A four-member committee has been formed to oversee and carry out these inspections,” he stated.
According to officials, the purpose of the drive is to ensure that no suspicious or unidentified items are kept anywhere within the hospital. Authorities are expected to continue heightened security measures in the coming days.
